Apple offers free drum replacements for some 13-inch MacBook Pro notebooks (without touch bar) that may have a defective component.
The company recently announced that a limited number of these devices had a component that could fail, which would increase the capacity of the original built-in battery. While Apple says it's not a security problem, it wants to solve the problem as quickly as possible with free battery replacements.
Models likely to be affected were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017.
Do you think your MacBook Pro might be eligible?
Apple has set up a website for the replacement program where users can enter the serial number of their device to verify eligibility.
This is not the first time that Apple offers a battery replacement. In fact, Apple was found in hot water last year when users learned that the company was slowing older iPhones in order to save energy on the old batteries. The company responded by offering a $ 29 battery replacement in iPhones.
