A Russian entrepreneur filed three patent applications that would grant him the right to distribute "vodka is traded on the brands Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ethereum Classic.
As reported in the local media Life.ru Yekaterinburg businessman Dmitry Troitsky hopes to capitalize on the growing popularity of bitcoin , ethereum, and other crypto assets by turning them into brand names for the country's most famous alcoholic beverage.
However, although it is expensive to register trademarks, the entrepreneur told the publication that he had not yet developed any business plan to produce and distribute its bitcoin vodka.
"I still can not tell what it will look like and when he will bring out the goods with the name of the crypto currency, but I'm sure it can be useful, that's why I have submitted a registration application, and while doing with this company, we will see, "said the contractor.
The publication explains that Troitsky will likely enter into a contract with an established alcohol producer to bottle this new line of vodka, as he has apparently done with several brands in the past.
Perhaps the only thing more curious than the decision to release vodka on the theme of crypto is timing. Russian regulators have signaled their intention to start cracking down on the use of the domestic cryptocurrency, starting with 19459009 blocking sites that belong to trading platforms and bitcoin trading. Russian President Vladimir Putin has even called for the country to publish a cryptocurrency backed by the state the cryptoruable.
With this climate in the background, the release of Troitsky crypto vodka will create an interesting battle for the market share between the Bitcoin brand and another popular brand of domestic vodka whose name translates as "Russian Currency "after the ruble (as well as the fact that the drink was dubbed" liquid currency "during periods of financial distress).
Bitcoin Vodka faces a difficult battle; Life.ru reports that the Russian currency is one of the most popular vodkas on the domestic market. However, bitcoin makes the practice of defying expectations, so existing alcohol producers would be advised not to count this new line of vodka yet.
