On Thursday, Nintendo will probably reveal new details about when it will launch its next video game console.

The company Video game organizes an event in Tokyo at 23:00 (ET), where we expect that they will unveil date and price for the Nintendo Switch, its home console players stand out from the rest of the world. A docking station to take the road.

In October, Nintendo unveiled for the first time the Switch, which is expected to debut in March. Players attach the tablet-type device to a dock to play at home on a TV with standard video game controllers. Players can also remove the tablet, using a pair of "Joy-con" controllers on each side to play games away from home.

A video montage of the Switch shows the players using the controllers in each hand, or allowing two users to have their own controller to play the racing game Mario Kart

The launch of Switch is important for Nintendo, as it seeks to recover from the poor sales of its latest home appliance, Wii U. Featuring a tablet-like controller, Wii U has never captured consumer interest, falling back on more recent devices like Microsoft's Xbox One and PlayStation 4. To date, Nintendo has sold more than 13 million Wii U consoles.

The weak interest has also pushed third-party game publishers to launch games for the platform. However, Nintendo has signed several big names with them on Switch, including Activision, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft.

The Thursday event could shed some light on how many of these third-party games are unique to Switch or are Nintendo's plans to broadcast the event on its website, as well as on Twitch's video platforms and YouTube.
