Brisbane Airport (BNE) will soon become the first cryptocurrency airport terminal, according to local media reports. The airport works with local and international companies to make the terminal fully compatible with cryptocurrencies, with shops, cafes and restaurants accepting Bitcoin, Ether and Dash.
The shift to digital currencies makes sense for the airport. number of crypto investors is increasing. According to Roel Hellemons, the Director General of Strategic Planning and Development:
"Many people in the world have made money by investing in cryptocurrencies and many of these people are traveling abroad, a digital currency experience in our terminals. "
The airport will partner with TravelbyBit, a cryptocurrency payment system, in order to allow travelers to buy digitally.
