ZhongAn wants to identify the pirates of the media with the tool Blockchain

ZhongAn Technology, a subsidiary of the Chinese online insurer ZhongAn, has filed a patent for a blockchain solution to protect the intellectual property rights of media companies from growing piracy and illegal file sharing.

According to a report released Tuesday by the National Intellectual Property Office of China, the system aims to prevent the unauthorized distribution of digital media content by providing the ability to identify who shared the content .

The states of demand:

"The development of the Internet has facilitated the illegal distribution of digital content such as movies and music, even after the parties have purchased the license from the content creators, who initiated the sharing. not allowed. "

Indeed, when a certain multimedia content is purchased, the ZhongAn blockchain system would link the buyer's identification with the unique data of the item purchased and would process the combined information to produce a unique hash that is stored on a blockchain. ]

If the same content is discovered later on the Internet, the system downloads its data and executes it through the same hash function, comparing the result with those stored on the blockchain. When a match is found, it reveals which buyer has violated the license agreement.

Formed in 2016 by ZhongAn, which was made public in Hong Kong last year, ZhongAn Technology mainly focuses on the development of emerging technology solutions for outsourcing to enterprises.

The latest patent filing, although still to be approved, signals that the company continues to focus on blockchain technology. As reported by CoinDesk, the company is already implementing its blockchain solution to track chicken processing in China using its Ann chain of blocks platform.

The latest filing also marks another effort by an established Chinese technology company seeking to patent blockchain solutions for digital rights management, following a similar effort by the telecom giant and Huawei smartphones, as outlined in the last week.
